1. The Greek text in Edmonds' edition, composed by Edmonds and based on a Latin poem by Terentianus Maurus which apparently paraphrases fr. 49, is not included in modern editions of Sappho. Lobel-Page, Voigt, and Campbell cite Terentianus in their apparatus for fr. 49; Neri quotes him as fr. 243A.

2. This fragment is quoted by Priscian, who attributes it to Sappho; modern scholars generally believe that it is in fact by Alcaeus.
